New self-healing system for cracks repairing

Macrocapsules with an expanding mineral powder were set-up for sealing cracks into cementbased materials. The was composed of a commercial fast setting cement mortar, sodium polyacrylate and product used to produce sparkling water (based on acid carbonate, malic tartaric acid). An optimal proportioning these components determined as 10:1:1, respectively. These compounds first mixed polyethylene glycol cast cylindrical moulds. Then, the mix heated at 230°C in oven cylinders demoulded thereafter. obtained products could be delicately handled coated epoxy resin waterproofed macrocapsules, while some uncoated kept closed containers 14 days. Brazilian tests performed hydrated determine their indirect tensile strength. Finally, macrocapsules incorporated mortar prisms, that pre-cracked three-point bending test after prisms under 8 days showed efficiency 98.7% flow 3.8 g/min, which decreased 3.5 g/min 18 curing. same samples stored 10 more reach overall healing time 28 days, they subjected again assess recovery mechanical properties flexion. average recovered flexural strength (10.6 ±4.5)%.
